Hi Everyone,
I believe another reason Blujay Stores aren't showing up in Google Searches, is because Google added more "Required Attributes" for Bulk Uploads.
Below are the "Required Attributes", and "Optional Attributes":
Required Attributes for All Products
You are required to include these attributes for all of the items in your bulk upload file. If you do not have information for an attribute, you may substitute a different attribute instead, such as a specific item type attribute or an additional attribute.
brand condition description expiration_date id image_link isbn link mpn price product_type title upc
Attributes for specific item types
If you are submitting one of the following item types, you are required to include additional attributes as well. If your items do not fit into any of the following item types or you do not have information for an attribute, please include some of the optional and custom attributes listed under the Additional Attributes heading below.

Looks like Adam is in a pickle. There is no fields for us to fill in to make it possible yet. WE do not provide him with the data he needs to comply with Google. Adam can revise the listing procedure to make it so. Are we ready to revise all our ads to give him what he needs?

Thanks -- I read that on the Google site, too.
The other free site has recommended a set of attributes like Google's to help listing placement in the Google Product Search -- put them at the end of your listing. Wonder if BluJay can be programmed that way. Otherwise, I'm not sure how Adam's going to be able to add 5 attributes to each listing that is uploaded.
Google's really pulling out some hoops to jump through this holiday season.
I just did a test to see if one of my listings appeared in the general web search results for the 4 search engines I think of -- Google, ask.com, search.msn.com, and search.yahoo.com. It was at the top or nearby for all except Google. (Of course, it used to show up on Google.) What I liked about msn was that you could find it by clicking on the "shopping" button as well the general "web" button.
Geesh. Glad I pulled my Google search button off my website.

Hi CC
I've been creating and doing my own bulk uploads to Google Base/Products since they began Google Checkout, and I agree, it's a LOT of work.
But, Google is the one that decides if our products are seen, so we have to comply if we want optimal placement in Google's Search Engine.

Jumping through a few hoops is one thing but that list is way overboard. The best part of Blujay is the Google Products feeds and now that may be a thing of the past for 99% of the items. Will Adam and Henderson strike the tents and move on? Will the BJ listings number steadying decline as Google sales dry up.

They always time their changes around the Holiday Shopping Season. Hope we didn't waste 2 1/2 years listing on blujay.

I just wrote an email to Ina Steiner about the new requirements. She should know something about it. Damn those greedy Google Boys. I hope Ina doesn't remember all that stuff I use to post about her filling my sexy librarian fantasies. ( still an admitted weakness alas )

Click on XML at the bottom of your store page & see if any new ones show up for you.

The attribute requirement change at Google happened at the beginning of the year. I never made any changes to my data upload and everything has been fine. It seemed at the time, although they claimed it was a requirement, it was more of a suggestion. They were trying to help sellers have their product more easily found. I have 6 headings. Link, Title, Description, Image_Link, Category and Price. My last upload was Oct 31, everything was OK.

Whatever You Do, Do It Well!!!
|
I hope someone can help me put here because I am totally confused.
1. Where are these XML Feeds that everyone is clicking on. I don't see anything like that on my home or item listing pages???
2. There has to be more to this than attribute changes, When I first started moving from Yahoo I dual listed about 25 items on ecrater and blujay. I haven't touched my ecrater items and every one of them is still in google product search. I do not have a Google or Paypal button in any listings.
3. I gave up on ecrater because all of the google product search listings take you to an ecrater listing page instead of a sellers listing page. That is still the way it is and I certainly hope I do not have to move there.
4. When we first lost our feeds to google search ecrater did also. Now theirs are back without sellers making any changes, so their site admin did something and I'm assuming that is what Adam is trying to do here.
5. Last November Yahoo Auctions was messed up and killed my holiday sales and now this. I really am happy with everything that has happened since I moved here and I'll stick it out for a while longer before I start dual listing my items again.
I know I'm rambling but that's how I post. Sorry if it's confusing. Thanks, Bill aka the old guy
