Hi I'm new to this bluejay marketplace
« on: September 15, 2007, 11:11:42 AM »

Hi I'm new to this bluejay marketplace and I was just wondering, it looks like you folks put a lot of work into building your sites and your online business I have been working hard at mine as well the question is ARE YOU MAKING ANY REAL MONEY??? so far it's has cost me plenty money with no real returns. I've used the search engines, the pay per clicks, the email campaigns you name it. So if any of you good people can offer any suggestions about what is really working I'm all ears. Smiley

To be a successful seller, learn as much as you can about the site you are selling on,so you can use it to the fullest extent for your sales!
Design all ads as if you are really selling something!    A picture speaks a thousand words, include the condition of item new/used.
Check other sellers store for ideas and help with building your store.
Post as many ads as possible!
                        Use spell check!
Be active in the forum, learn everything you can.
Have an easy and to the point sellers policy.
If you don't know the answer to something ask!
Help others to be successful at selling, share the things you know.
Yes, a free site does need promoting and there are plenty of great sellers at blujay that are more than willing and glad to help (teach)other sellers about promoting their store.

I found the store, but there is nothing in there. Just take the s/n used to post in the Community and suffix it with ".blujay.com".

In this case... http://dismart.blujay.com/

But that (somewhat) empty store page has a link out to another site. Looks like it was opened this past May.

Maybe they are just using Blujay to direct buyers to their other site.  Undecided

After a few years of growing the business I now make living.

My sales are currently 90% ebay, 5% my web store and 5% blujay.

If you expect to get rich quick or start selling tons right away, go get a real job.

Selling online requires patience, a great deal of time learning how to efficiently promote and market your business plus more time researching the value and demand for your products.

Most importantly you need to build a reputation. You cannot do this overnight.  You need that reputation to help spread your reputation via word of mouth. It's still the best form of advertising.

the reason I didn't put the bluejay link in is because I haven't loaded it with my products i have a site at http://save70pct.com

Hi, I have had a shop on Blujay for several months and have not had a sale.  I am trying everything to spread the word online, like free classified ads, forums, networking sites, store fronts and whatever else I find in my research that sounds like it could help promote my business without giving away money to programs that don't work.
I too would like to know what are some key things to do that I have not yet discovered.
I have heard that blogs and articles related to your product can help.  Does anyone have any beginners advice on this?
Thanks everyone for your posts, they do help a lot.

I signed up on blujay a while ago, I originally sold candles on here and did not make a single sale.

My current venure has me making parrot toys and play stands....in my first week I have made two sales and I am working with several buyers on additional sales.

The difference is this....

With my candles, I placed the ads and that was it, I waited for the buyers to come to me. Well, guess what, they didn't show up.

This time around, I am using BluJay simply as a tool. I place the ads on BluJay and take them down when the item is paid for. So far both of my customers have paid in cash, so I deleted the ads when they paid.

I place ads on classified boards directing people to my BluJay site. They go to my BluJay store to see my inventory. If the want to pay via credit card I ask them to do it through blujay. So far it has worked extremely well.
