Congratulations to all who have had a sale! I just received my second sale yesterday. I am slowly listing more items. I have set a goal of making at least 50 sales by the end of the year.

Had 1 in 2016 here. 233 from another site. Not sure why people won't buy here anymore. Before all the change over my sales were good. Still have lots of window shoppers. My prices are lower here + free shipping. The same shoppers go to the other site, pay more and shipping also. I have no clue. I just keep listing here because it is free. keep hoping one day it will wake-up again.

Hello calico....this is also what perplexes me. It appears people are reluctant to purchase here. When I ship items purchased on ebeast I include my store url on both the packing slip and the email notification and they still purchase from me on ebeast.

I have 800 items active there and 12,000 here but they either will not look or will not purchase.

On another note...the item view count...if they are to be believed, I get more views here than on the beast...why do they not translate to sales?

oh well....hang in there

regards
Vic

About to decide this is not the place for handmade goods anymore. Been 2 years now and things are at a standstill. Made a sale in July from a customer that I sent from another site. Still getting lots of views, not sure if the hits can be believed.
Just feeling tired and frustrated with the whole site.

Helpful Suggestions for Getting More sales on EBlueJay
« Reply #57 on: January 23, 2017, 05:12:22 PM »

I recommend checking out the new videos on YouTube about selling on EBlueJay by Randy Dreammaker
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAXbKOyeC68&list=PLzZV4YNXVJub92hkwzHqCdK7iRt2FIUtl

That being said, here are some tips SchoolMadeEasy.

1. Delete the products you have on BluJay (migrate any that still are for sale to your EBlueJay store) and instead have links to your EBlueJay Store in your BluJay info and link.

2. I noticed that you do not have a link to your EBlueJay Store here in the forums in your signature.  You should add it so those here in the community can view your store and it will also help with your SEO.

3. I noticed that on EBay you have over 200 items for sale and on  EBlueJay you only have about 60 to 80.  You should have all your products in your EBlueJay Store.

4. I noticed that you use two different domain names, neither really suggest that you primarily sell only school text books.  I'd recommend you consider going with the name which includes the word book in it, EveBooks.com

5. Neither of your two websites has a link to your EBlueJay store.

6. Your store logo and banner on EBlueJay do not make your store look like a store. Consider hiring someone from Fiver.com to make you a matching logo, mini-logo and banner that include your store name and appropriately help identify your products.  Fiver.com cost about $5 per project.

7. Your Facebook page is being completely wasted. You have 4 images of books, a weird logo image and another photo.  No links, no updates, no products.  You should be share your products from EBlueJay using their Facebook feature so that your actual products appear on your Facebook page.  Use Hashtags like #Books #Textbooks in the test shared.  Also, you need a banner and logo that match your store on Facebook.

8. Your websites, Facebook, EBlueJay, Ebay Store should all have the same logo, name and banner and actually have a link to EBlueJay since that's where you have commission free sales.

9. Your two websites provide little real information about what you do.  You have links to your old BluJay store, ebay, etc. Its a wasted opportunity.

10. I recommend you add a few extra details to your descriptions on EBlueJay - copy and paste them from eBay if necessary.

11. Watch Randy Dreammakers YouTube video about KEYWORDS - Your keywords are where your sales are going to come from, and also help with Google Shopping Integration

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAXbKOyeC68&list=PLzZV4YNXVJub92hkwzHqCdK7iRt2FIUtl

12. Keep your store on EBlueJay active for the Google and Search results on EBlueJay by listing new products. It makes a difference.

13. Realize, that your products (text books) tend to sell slow and have a rapid expiration date due to the ongoing new editions.  Also your competition is Ebay and Amazon.  Most students and teachers looking for text books are going to one of those two places, there are also a ton of Text Book specific marketplaces your competing with that have advertising money to compete with you.  Adding more product to your EBlueJay store will provide more opportunities.  Chances are, your store has a high bounce rate, because anyone visiting your store is looking for very specific items.  First impressions are everything, make your store look like a store.

14. After looking at your two websites, facebook, ebay, old Blujay store and EBlueJay store, I'll make the suggestion that you place both student and teacher text books into your EBlueJay store - it looks like your are directing students and teachers to two different locations or at least two different websites.

15.  Since your websites are honestly doing nothing other than adding an extra layer of websites people have to navigate through - instead, just go to your domain provider (I use Namecheap, i think you use GoDaddy) and set up a domain forwarding so those "website" links take people directly to your store.  If you don't want to do that, then set-up a sub-forwarding link at your domain such as http://store.retrogameworks.com   link i have.   That way, you can use store.schoolmadeeasy.com to take people to your store and  www.schoolmadeeasy.com will go to your website.   You could also set it up for http://Ebay.schoolmadeeasy  and http://Ebluejay.schoolmadeeasy  or http://store1.school   and http://store2.school
The point of this is incase you ever want to move from Ebay to Amazon or say Ebluejay to Shopify, the web addresses would just need the forwarding address updates on your domain account. Right now, you are using Ebay and BluJay's hard links which you can not update.

16. Because EBlueJay doesn't have the history as BluJay and you are not actively promoting your store, products or updating your websites or social media links so people can find your store, and it appears you are not actively adding product to your EBlueJay store, your getting the traffic, that is realistic.   You'll want to at least make the minimum updates to your links.

Again, I highly suggest Randy Dreammakers videos on YouTube, which is currently focused on helping EBlueJay sellers increase sales.
